Loki’s story: Loki is my first Catahoula, adopted from the SPCA. His main job these days involves holding down the couch. He’s a laid-back kind of guy that can be seen snoozing in his sit-stays. He’s tried his paws in agility and Rally-O but he spends most of his time eating, thinking about eating, trying to be a lap dog and wondering when the other dogs will go home like the other foster dogs did…
Hawkeye's Story: Hawkeye is a Catahoula Leopard dog who was slated for euthanasia in a rural shelter in North Carolina. Knowing he didn’t have a chance, I asked if I could take him to National K9 as my training dog. I had every intention of bringing him back and re-homing him like any other foster. When I met the transport that brought him to Ohio, I knew he wasn’t just a foster (sorry Brad!). We’ve had our ups and downs and are still figuring each other out but we are on this journey together and the cushion at my feet is never empty.
Kain des Ombres Valeureux: What else can I say, the pictures say it all! Kain is a little wild man and a force of chaos in our home. When he’s not making trouble (about 99% of the time), he is learning French Ring and is contemplating a stint in the AKC obedience ring later in life.
