We wanted to devote this post to helping a wonderful dog find his perfect home!

Introducing Freddie, a stunning bundle of 65lbs of energy, vital life force and joy.

Born in October of 2024, Freddie is currently with a devoted foster in Nelson, BC who has put an incredible amount of effort and love into the preparation for his new family.

As a young adolescent, Freddie is both eager to please and extremely clever. While a goofball at heart, Freddie is food motivated, an enthusiastic learner and highly playful. He is very athletic and quick on his feet and might make a great agility companion as he is very fast. And yet Freddie has an off switch and is a super cuddler. He does well with routine and structure.

He plays well with other dogs with a proper introduction and is also good with horses, cats and chickens (should you have any of those kicking around).

As with all young rescues, there are things that are a work in progress with Freddie. He can be reactive to new dogs if not thoughtfully introduced. He is wary of strangers until he gets the opportunity to meet the person. Trust is earned with Freddie, not given automatically.

His perfect home would include an active dog partner although he would be fine as a solo dog, just needing social time with dogs. Freddie would do better in a quiet setting, more rural than highly urban. His person would have experience in working with shy dogs as he needs confidence building; Freddie needs help in working through stranger danger issues. Because of his exuberance for life and high energy. Freddie’s perfect person would be active and outdoorsy, matching his adventuresome spirit with worldly adventures.

Freddy is extremely healthy: he is currently on a raw/fresh food diet and is not yet neutered to allow his growth plates to close.
