Point Grey Dog Training Classes: Level One

Our Level One Life Skills course is the crown jewel of our level one obedience offerings, blending game-based and obedience-focused activities into the curriculum you’ll impart to your dog, all under the banner of positive reinforcement.

This six-week adventure starts off in the digital realm with a Zoom class before transitioning to four outdoor group sessions, providing ample space for grand-scale learning. It’s in these settings that dogs truly thrive and apply their newfound life skills. The grand finale? A field trip! We convene in an exciting urban setting to put those skills to the test in real-life scenarios.

In Life Skills, we delve into management techniques pivotal for behavioral development; discuss nutrition and wellness for mental and physical vigor; advocate for compassionate leadership so you’re confidently at the helm; introduce reinforcement strategies for clear communication; and emphasize toy play and engagement games for distraction management, among other key areas.

Point Grey Dog Training Classes: Level Two

Our Skills and Drills class is our pride and joy! Tailored for those who have dedicated countless hours to laying a solid foundation with their dog and are now ready to up the ante through challenging proofing exercises. This is where learned behaviors are polished and perfected.

The Skills and Drills Power Hour is both exhilarating and exhausting; it’s designed to fortify the bond between human and canine while elevating both handler know-how and dog dexterity. Expect to return home with a pleasantly worn-out pup!

We tackle toy engagement, mastering stationary commands, leash manners, recall responsiveness, advanced obedience maneuvers, and a plethora of distractions. Training becomes an absolute delight, and it’s common for our veteran clients to find themselves not wanting the journey to end.

Point Grey Sunday Morning Dog Walking Club

Zen Dog Canine Training also hosts a delightful Sunday Morning Walking Club — a monthly social rendezvous for dogs and their owners. These city excursions offer a structured social framework through parallel on-leash walks, providing a perfect pause from training to simply enjoy being part of a pack — both canine and human.

Our one-hour congregations occur monthly, weather-dependent, within the Point Grey locale. Each walk is set in a dog-friendly environment, ensuring an enjoyable outing for all.

Benefits of Dog Classes

Dogs revel in learning. They thrive when given the chance to harness their breed-specific instincts in exchange for reinforcement and accolades; they bask in the feeling of belonging and being comprehended. To a significant extent, dogs reflect the knowledge we impart and how we navigate them through their environment. Through education, we can broaden their horizons, enriching their lives and ours in the process.

We invite you to unlock the full potential of your dog by making the learning journey both meaningful and enjoyable.
